Self-Judgment
How do you feel when your self-judgment comes in? I bet if I could hear your responses right now, I’d hear things like “oh my self-judgment makes me feel flawed, stupid and “less than”. Maybe you’d simply say that self-judgment makes you doubt yourself and lose confidence. I think we can all agree that self-judgment, and the resulting self-criticism does not make us feel better. In fact, it’s usually the opposite, like a toxin seeping into our mind and body. Negative self-judgment weighs us down. It limits us, it causes stress, anxiety and worse.
Listen now as Jan explores strategies for moving from self-judgment to self-assessment.
“A self-assessment simply notices what is with the kind of clear, calm lens of a scientist. It keeps the sense of our personal value separate from the evaluation of our functioning or actions”
